A loan from PM SVANidhi detained for street vendors in Mancherial
A total of 11,200 street vendors have secured loans out of the total 13,200 vendors who have applied for the loan in seven urban local authorities in the district under the program to date.
Mancherial: Various banks and the Mission for the Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) jointly organized a mela for the disbursement of loans to eligible street vendors under the leadership of AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) of the street vendor of PM at the premises of the Municipality of Mancherial here on Saturday. Senior Bank Manager Haveli Raju and State Bank of India Regional Manager Ramulu were the main guests.
Haveli Raju said a total of 11,200 street vendors have secured loans out of the total 13,200 vendors who have applied for the loan in seven urban local authorities in the district under the program to date. No less than 17,500 vendors have applied for a loan of 10,000 rupees each in the district. A total of 200 vendors received loans in the town of Mancherial during the camp.
The senior bank manager further said that 3,492 vendors belonging to the Municipality of Mancherial had applied for the loan to date and among them 3,000 vendors had been sanctioned with loans. He said the camp aimed to cover the remaining candidates. He added that similar camps were taking place simultaneously in the civic organs of Bellampalli, Mandamarri, Luxettipet, Naspur, Chennur and Kyathanpalli.
Raju informed that a total of 950 vendors had abandoned applications in the six municipalities requesting loans in the camps in a single day. The funds would be credited to one week’s accounts. Those who would like to take advantage of this could turn to the local bank managers. Ramulu suggested that sellers pay off loans on time and get loans for growing their businesses. Raju, the MEPMA district mission coordinator and the district director of Srinidhi Loans, Srinivas, were in attendance.
