cinema chain AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. (NYSE: AMC) became the most talked about action on Reddit’s r / WallStreetBets forum Monday morning.

What happened: Exchange traded fund SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE: SPY) is enjoying the most interest on the forum with 199 mentions at time of publication, followed by AMC Entertainment with 54 mentions, according to data from Quiver Quantitative.

Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) and video game retailer GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) sit third and fourth, attracting 53 and 38 mentions, respectively.

Why is this important: AMC Entertainment shares surged on Friday with a strong opening box office performance of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in its US theaters.

AMC said it estimated that nearly 1.1 million people came to its theaters to see the new film on opening night last Thursday, marking the highest number of people watching a movie in one day in its US theaters for all of 2020 and 2021.

It has been reported that Tesla shareholder David Wagner filed a lawsuit against the company after the CEO Elon musk sold part of his Tesla shares based on a Twitter poll he conducted. Wagner alleged that Musk’s social media behavior negatively impacted the electric vehicle maker’s stock price.

Price action: Shares of AMC Entertainment closed up 19.1% in Friday’s regular trading session at $ 29.12 and rose again nearly 0.9% in the after-hours session at $ 29.38.
