National Bank Neffs is running a month-long campaign to give back to the community to celebrate Community Banking Month.

The bank will organize special events every Friday in April, with activities throughout the month:

• Today, 11 am to 4 pm, community blood drive with the Miller-Keystone Blood Center in Neffs. Appointments and masks are mandatory. Visit GIVEaPint.org Code 6590 to register. Limited space still available.

• April 9, 11 am to 2 pm, adoptable pets from Haafsville Sanctuary, Neffs location.

All donated goods are resold to Habitat Lehigh Valley ReStore. The money raised goes to their homeownership program in the Lehigh Valley to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

• April 23, 1 pm to 4 pm, a shredding event will take place at the Neffs location. Bring confidential and sensitive documents containing personal information. Restrictions apply; list available on neffsnatl.com. The quantity of material / documents accepted may be limited.

• April 30, 10 am to 4 pm, customer appreciation day, free ice cream. Available items will vary while supplies last. This event will take place at the Neffs and Walnutport locations.

In April, stop by Neffs or Walnutport locations and participate in these activities:

• Community Food Drive: Help support neighbors by participating in the Neffs National Bank Food Drive, accepting canned and non-perishable foods, paper products, personal hygiene items, diapers, baby food, etc. No expired item.

• Collection of Pet Items to Benefit Haafsville Sanctuary: Donations can be made to help fill the crate. Unopened food and treats, collars, leashes, harnesses, towels, paper products, latex gloves and cleaning products. No items with padding like pillows, blankets etc. Visit thesanctuarypa.org for a full list of donations.

• Children’s art competition: open to children 12 and under only. The event will be held monthly at the Neffs and Walnutport sites. What does “Community” or “Home” mean? First prize of $ 25 deposited into their Neffs National Bank Kids’ Klub account. There will be one winner in each age category (3 and under, 4-6, 7-9, 10 and over). Original art accepted: sketch, paint, chalk, drawing, mixed media. The size of the paper or canvas should not exceed 8.5 by 11 inches. Art must be submitted today to be exhibited in the bank for judging.

• The grocery game: guess the value of the items in the grocery basket and win a Giant gift card. The first person to submit a dated estimate without exceeding the value will win. Guess will be open in the lobby today through April 30. The winners will be informed and posted on social networks. The Neffs National Bank will donate the items in the basket as part of its community food drive to benefit local food banks. The bank would like to thank Giant in Walnutport.
