Venter Institute, Yumanity among the biopharmaceutical beneficiaries of PPP loans

Yesumanity, the J. Craig Venter Institute and dozens of other companies in the biotechnology industry have received Paycheque Protection Program ready, according to data released Monday.
The J. Craig Venter Institute has secured a loan of more than $ 2 million covering more than 150 employees. Neurodegeneration-focused startup Yumanity Therapeutics has received more than $ 1 million under the program. LabCentral, an incubator in Cambridge, Massachusetts, received approximately $ 720,000 from the program. And the American Cancer Research Association, which held its annual convention practically this year, received enough of the program to pay more than 200 people.
